PrepJet vs PsychPrep: Price, Questions, and Guarantees Side by Side
PrepJet and PsychPrep are both established EPPP prep programs, but they sell two different kinds of preparation. PrepJet is a subscription built around test strategy, analytics, and video. PsychPrep is a fixed-term package built around written rationales, workshops, and consultant feedback.
The practical question is not which one has the longer feature list. It is which model fits your budget, your study timeline, and the way you learn. Below is the comparison I would want before paying either company.
Vendor details come from PrepJet's and PsychPrep's own sites. For this post, I used the vendor checks already documented in our reviews: PrepJet on September 13, 2026, and PsychPrep on September 14, 2026. Prices and package contents change, so confirm the current terms on each site before you buy.
Disclosure: I am Anders Chan, Psy.D., and I built thePsychology.ai. I have a stake in this comparison. I will show where each competitor is the better fit, and where our platform falls short.

As of September 13 and 14, 2026, those were the published terms. The table is deliberately blunt about what each company does not publish. A missing number is useful information too.
What the price actually buys
PrepJet's advantage is a low commitment at the start. The monthly Basic plan is $159, and the free trial does not require a card. If you already know the content and want a few months of drilling, a subscription lets you stop when you are done.
The lower PrepJet rates require a longer plan. Basic drops to $139 per month on a 3-month plan and $109 per month on a 6-month plan. Read those as commitments, not as a lower list price. If your exam date moves, you have already paid for the longer term.
PsychPrep's advantage is that you can buy a defined package instead of an open-ended subscription. The Basic 1-month package is $199. The 6-month Basic package is $699, and the 9-month Premium package is $1,419 with hard-copy materials. There is no free trial, but PsychPrep publishes free sample questions, a sample study package, and a free strategies seminar.
The renewal terms matter after the package ends. PsychPrep says a package renews monthly at $199 after a 1-month term, $149 after a 6-month term, or $129 after a 9-month term. If you need more time, budget for that renewal rather than assuming access stops.
Question bank and full-length exams
PrepJet lists 1,500+ questions and says its full-length exams are included, but it does not publish the number of distinct full-length forms on the pages checked. That matters because a large bank and a large number of complete practice tests are not the same thing. One full-length exam can contain hundreds of questions from the same bank. Ask PrepJet how many distinct 225-question forms you get before you treat its exam count as settled.
PsychPrep publishes 5 full-length practice tests with detailed explanations for every answer. Its package pages list domain quizzes as well, but they do not publish a total question-bank size. The fixed five exams are easier to plan around. They are also easier to exhaust, especially on a retake.
Neither vendor's guarantee changes that math. More questions help only when you review the misses and use them to change what you study next.
Guarantees and the exact terms
PrepJet does not list a pass guarantee on the pages checked. Its risk reduction is the free trial, which lets you take a diagnostic exam before paying. That is a fair way to test the product, but it is not an extension if you fail after a full subscription.
PsychPrep does not list a pass guarantee on its package pages either. Its terms after the package term are renewal fees, not a pass-or-extend remedy. PsychPrep's free sample content helps you judge the question style, but it does not protect the money you spend on a full package.
This is the part to read twice. A free trial reduces the risk of buying the wrong program. A pass guarantee reduces the risk of failing after you have already bought it. Those are different protections, and neither company currently publishes the second one on the pages checked.
Lessons and audio
PrepJet is the more video-heavy option. It lists a library of 100+ videos, lectures by Dayan Edwards, and reading summaries you can highlight and annotate. Its stated approach is that it teaches the test, not the psychology content. That makes it a reasonable fit for someone who learned the material in graduate school and wants strategy, analytics, and repeated practice.
PsychPrep is the more structured content package. Basic includes a pre-recorded EPPP Mastery Workshop built around 160 challenging questions and detailed explanations. Basic Package Plus adds a study volume, either digital or hard copy. Premium adds 38 hours of downloadable audio across the EPPP domains and access to the live virtual workshop while the subscription is active. Every package includes personalized email feedback from a consultant.
If you learn by watching short videos and drilling, PrepJet has the clearer advantage. If you want a printed or digital study volume, audio you can take with you, and a person reviewing your progress by email, PsychPrep has the clearer advantage.
Mobile access
Neither vendor lists a native mobile app on the pages checked. Plan on using the program through a mobile browser when you are away from a computer. If studying on your phone is central to your routine, test the mobile site during the free trial or sample period before you commit.
Who PrepJet fits
If budget is the main constraint
PrepJet fits best if you want to pay for a short study window and stop. The free trial has no card, and the monthly Basic plan is the lowest-commitment way to test the full product. The lower monthly rates are real, but they come with a 3-month or 6-month plan, so compare the total you will actually pay rather than the headline monthly rate.
If you are retaking the exam
PrepJet fits a retaker who already knows the content and wants a readiness score, sub-domain drill-down, and custom exams. Its analytics are designed to show where you are weak below the domain level. The missing piece is a published full-length exam count and a pass guarantee, so a retaker should confirm both before buying a long plan.
If you work full time
PrepJet fits a working candidate who wants short videos, lectures, and practice that can fit around a job. The subscription is self-paced, and the video library gives you a way to study when reading feels too heavy. There is no native app, so mobile study depends on the browser experience.
Who PsychPrep fits
If budget is the main constraint
PsychPrep's lowest entry point is the $199 Basic 1-month package, and its free sample content lets you inspect the question style before paying. That is a lower upfront commitment than the longer packages, but it is also a short access window. If you need six or nine months, the package price and the renewal rate are the numbers that matter.
If you are retaking the exam
PsychPrep fits a retaker who wants five full-length tests with detailed written rationales, a fixed workshop structure, and email feedback from a consultant. The combination is useful if your last attempt showed you need to review reasoning, not just cover more content. The tradeoff is a fixed bank that some users report seeing repeats from, plus no published pass guarantee.
If you work full time
PsychPrep fits a working candidate who wants a defined study package, a pre-recorded workshop, and downloadable audio for commutes or walks. The 38 hours of audio are only in Premium, so check the package before assuming audio is included. The 6-month and 9-month terms also suit a slower study schedule better than a one-month sprint.
Where thePsychology.ai fits
thePsychology.ai is $60 a month or $349 a year after a 7-day free trial with no credit card. It includes 3,000+ questions, 20 full-length practice exams, and 80+ short lessons written and checked by licensed psychologists. The adaptive loop recalibrates after each session and brings back the concepts you missed, rather than leaving you to decide what to review next.
The mobile picture is a native iPhone app with synced progress. Android users get the mobile-responsive web app, not a native Android app. That is a real limitation if you specifically want an Android app.
The guarantee is different from what PrepJet and PsychPrep publish. Meet the study criteria, take your exam, and if you do not pass, billing pauses free until your next attempt, for up to six months, with access staying on. The conditions are an active subscription for 60 days before your exam, your exam date and legal name registered at least two weeks ahead, two full-length practice exams on separate days, and passing scores on the topic quizzes your diagnostic told you to prioritize. The full terms are on the guarantee page.
Where we fall short: we are newer than both companies, our community is smaller, and we do not offer human coaching or a printed study volume. Our exam count is also fixed at 20, so space the full-length sims out instead of burning through them in one month.

How to choose between PrepJet and PsychPrep
Choose PrepJet if you already know the content, want to drill the test, prefer video and analytics, and want a subscription you can stop. Confirm the number of distinct full-length exams before you buy a long plan.
Choose PsychPrep if you want five full-length tests with detailed rationales, a structured workshop, a study volume, downloadable audio in Premium, and email feedback from a consultant. Confirm the renewal rate and whether the package term matches your exam date.
Neither choice needs to be permanent. Both companies let you inspect the product before paying for a full package, through a free trial or free sample content. Start there, answer a few unfamiliar questions, and see which explanation style actually teaches you something.
Frequently asked questions
Is PrepJet cheaper than PsychPrep?
It depends on the term and package. PrepJet starts at $159 per month on its Basic monthly plan, with lower monthly rates on 3-month and 6-month plans. PsychPrep's Basic package starts at $199 for one month. A short PrepJet subscription can cost less upfront, while a longer PsychPrep package may cost less than several months of a higher PrepJet tier. Compare the total for your expected study window, not just the first payment.
Does PrepJet or PsychPrep offer a pass guarantee?
Neither company listed a pass guarantee on the pages checked in September 2026. PrepJet offers a free trial with no card. PsychPrep offers free sample content and free sample questions. Those reduce the risk of buying the wrong program, but they are not the same as an extension or refund after a failed exam.
How many full-length practice exams does each program include?
PsychPrep lists 5 full-length practice tests with detailed written rationales. PrepJet lists full-length exams but does not publish the number of distinct forms. Ask PrepJet directly before you assume a specific count.
Which one is better for a retaker?
PrepJet fits a retaker who wants a readiness score, sub-domain drill-down, and custom exams. PsychPrep fits a retaker who wants five full-length tests with detailed rationales, a workshop, and consultant feedback. Neither publishes a pass guarantee, so the decision should rest on which feedback format helps you change your study behavior.
Which one is better if I work full time?
PrepJet's 100+ videos and subscription format fit short study sessions around a job. PsychPrep's pre-recorded workshop, study volume, and 38 hours of downloadable audio in Premium fit a slower, more structured schedule. Check the package term and confirm that audio is included at the tier you are considering.
